Please tell us about what do you do and how long you have been doing it?

I am a Tool and Die Maker. I work on progressive stamping dies. I have been doing it for five and a half years.

How did you get into your career in manufacturing?

I really liked working with my hands and I knew college wasn’t for me. I wanted to get into an apprenticeship. New Concept Technology offered me a job in the Manufacturers’ Association’s apprenticeship program and I accepted.

How would you describe a typical day at work?

A typical day at work is fast paced and sometimes hectic. I move from one stamping press to another maintaining various stamping dies. The pace makes the work day go faster.

What do you love most about what you do for your job?

I love being able to work with my hands on a wide variety of stamping dies and not coming to work to do the same thing every day. It is challenging and rewarding being able to solve technical issues that arise.
